42″ LCD tv wont turn on?

ok so I just picked up this 42″ Philips LCD TV (42PFL5332D/37). It does not turn on. I was thinking its the power supply because it doesnt turn on without the buttons on side of tv or the remote. Ive tested the cord and up to the connectors to the power supply and its a consistent 120v. My question is how do I test the power supply on it? it has like 4 or 5 plugs off of it to various components of TV. Anybody that knows how or knows where I can get a manual of the power supply please let me know….

In my previous question someone told me to check the fuse on the power supply board. The ceramic fuse was bad so I bought a 2 pack of new ones. They tested good but would be bad after I plugged the tv in and tried turning it on.

  1. TV Tech 1 says:

Ok. . . . NOW you need to replace the power supply. Then if your fuse blows again, you’ll need to replace your YSUS FIRST –THEN your power supply again. . . .

Hey. . . you never said you wanted a TV Tech to save you money, so I won’t suggest that.

Call up Philips, tell them you need the power supply.
